18th July 2010 - A heartfelt message from Young Athlete’s Team Manager, Eve Standerline:

A BIG WELL DONE!!!!! to all athletes that competed today at Sheffield in the last Young Athlete’s League match of the season.

Going into the match we had tough competition against Hull AC and 2DASH and had to better 2DASH if we had any chance of remaining in the division.  All athletes were up for the challenge.

There were many fantastic individual performances - too many to mention, but just a massive WELL DONE to you all.  As a team you ALL pulled together to keep the points rolling in and in the end we finished in 2nd place.  As I understand it this means that we will stay in this division.

I must also say a big Thank You to all the guys (and Lindsey) who provided our field teams.  Not only today but over the last 4 meetings.  I couldn’t do the meetings without you!   Thank You!!

So guys, thank you for making my 1st year as Team Manager an enjoyable, challenging but very rewarding one.  I  really have enjoyed seeing you all try your best and succeed.   You have made me very proud and you have been a credit to our Club.

Thanks, Eve.

21st June 2010 - Young Athlete’s League - Messages from Team Manager, Eve Standerline

Message 1

Well what a very long day!   I take it that everyone who went to the young athletes match today at York agrees with me after I said WELL DONE to you all on the bus and got no reply!

The team performed well again with some brilliant individual performances, athletes setting new personal bests and competing against some very tough competition.

I’m sorry I wasn’t there to cheer you all on in your events but I had to help Roz do the results which took up most of the day but I was watching you from my little box!

A big well done must go to the u15 boys relay team who came 1st for our match WELL DONE BOYS!!!! very proud of you!!!

There are to many individual performances to mention on here but well done to you all.

A BIG BIG thank you goes to Roz Bailles who spent the whole day doing the results for the club -    I really appreciate it, and also thank you to Steve, Lindsey, Dan and Mark for being the field team for the day as well.   Last but not least a big thank you to all those who came along to watch and cheers us on it really does make a big difference to the athletes.

Athlete of the match - I have decided to give it to 2 of our male athletes Ben Manderson for excellent performances in his events - amazing sprinting Ben well done!!! and to Nathan Tougan for his fab long jump and contribution to the relay well done guys!!!

Message 2

The last and final Young Athlete’s match is on the 18th July at Sheffield.   Your Club Needs You!!!!   The athletes that have been competing at the previous meetings this season have enjoyed individual performance but I feel and know that many of them do to feel let down by some athletes within the club who do not make themselves available for this league.

The team has been doing their very best but finds it impossible to compete with the other clubs who have many athletes in their teams.   It leaves our team feeling disappointed when they are doing their best but then we cannot compete in relays and as a whole team for points.

Due to the lack of athletes supporting the league this year we will probably end up being relegated this season which would be a real blow to those athletes who have not only supported me in my first year as manager but have given their all this season.   Of those of you have competed I am very proud of your achievements!!

So if you are an u13, u15 or 17 then please support your fellow athletes and compete in this last match, there will be a free bus for competing athletes so there really is no excuse!!!

15th June 2010 - Young Athlete’s League - Message from Team Manager, Eve Standerline

7th May 2010 - Message from Young Athlete’s Team Manager, Eve Standerline - The next Young Athletes League meeting is on Sunday 16th May at Manchester.   If any athlete aged u13, u15 or u17 would like to come and take part then please see either me or Sam in the canteen on Tues or Thurs to get your name down.  There is a free bus provided for all competing athletes so you need to get your name down asap!!!   Please come and support YOUR club and be part of a wonderful team!!!!

4th May 2010 - Message from Young Athlete’s Team Manager, Eve Standerline - Just a note to say well done to those athletes that competed in the young athletes league at the weekend.   It was an early start and a very long journey for those that went on the long trip to Blackburn.   Each athlete gave it their all, some of which had only been doing athletics for a few weeks or had only just moved up to the Under 13's, so it was their first taste of the league.   Even though we only had a very small team of 12 athletes due to many people having other arrangements that day, they did themselves and the club proud!!   It is hoped that more athletes will compete in the next match which is at Manchester on Sunday 16th May.   Last but not least, a big thank you to Chris, Maggie, Mark and Sam for providing our field team for the day.

20th April 2010 - Message from Team Manager, Eve Standerline
