Matt Hammond’s Press Report posted for the Northern Intercounties at Gateshead on Saturday 28th August 2010. Many thanks Matt.
Well Done to all the competing Scunthorpe athletes and parents. You all deserve the highest praise for your support of the Humberside Athletics League, particularly as tight finances prevented the provision of any transport assistance.
To travel all that way and then give ‘your all’ is highly commendable. Well Done.

Press Report posted for Senior League Match 4 courtesy of Matt Hammond. Matt would also like to make the following comment:
As an athlete can I say on behalf of the team a Big Thank You to Gav MANN for his efforts organising the Northern Senior team this year. As with most jobs involving running a team, there is more to it than people realise and the fact we can just turn up and compete without having to worry about anything else is proof of the good job Gav has done.
So can I please request next year everybody puts the dates of the 4 league matches in their diaries and arrange their competition schedule and work schedule around them. If we put a full team out every match we have proved we can match the best in this division. You don't have to be running PB'S or even fully fit to earn good points for the team. Remember UNITY IS STRENGTH
Matt

Track and Field, Senior League Manager, Gavin Mann sends the following message after the highly successful Division Match yesterday:
I wish to congratulate all the Scunthorpe Senior team after winning our final match at home, yesterday. This now confirms that we will be competing again in Division 2EC next season. Doncaster and City of Sheffield were relegated.
It’s been a long hard season but everyone involved with in the team have been fantastic, all performing to the best of their abilities and setting lots of personal and seasonal best performances and smashing Club records on the way.
None of this would have been possible without the help and support of all our officials, helpers, coaches and supporters who turn up at each match. I speak for all of the team when I say THANK YOU!
After consolation in 2EC, the plan is now to aim for the championship and yet another promotion next season.
Regards Gavin - A very happy but drained Team manager.
