- Track, Field and Road - Announcement The 2008 Club Championships are to be held at Quibell Park on Sunday 14th September commencing at 10.00 a.m. (see Fixtures Page for details). This is traditionally the final track and field meeting of the season where family and friends are able to see our athletes at their best. There will always be a ‘fun element’ somewhere in the programme so don’t be surprised if you find yourself being asked to do something different. Points are awarded on performance, so positions are not as important as time/distance. Prize winners will not be revealed until the Presentation Night. Please enter as soon as possible by completing the entry form and handing it, and your money, to an official on Training Nights

- Star:Track Athletics - Barton & District Athletic Club are presenting Star:Track Athletics (for 8 to 15 year olds) at Baysgarth Leisure Centre (Field and Sports Hall), Baysgarth Park, Barton on Humber on the following dates:
- 29th, 30th and 31st July 2008, commencing at 10.00 a.m. until 3 p.m. daily.
- Price - £15 (£5 per day).

- Cross Country - Message from Fiona Fisk
I’m posting this message as I've not yet had any response to the poster/ notice, that's up at Quibell, regarding the Complete Runner Cross Country League (formerly known as the West Yorkshire League).
This year's Cross Country Dates are as follows:
- 12 October at Otley
- 25/26 October provisionally at Wetherby
- 15/16 November to be decided
- 6/7 December to be decided and will include the presentation
This year, in order to be eligible to take part, Clubs need to send a team of 4 helpers to assist the host club in setting up and dismantling the course. This would be for one of the events only (to be decided by the organisers). The League will be contacting me again in early August to invite us to take part this season. If anyone would like to take over the organising of the Scunthorpe Team they will be most welcome, as this year I will not have the time to liaise with everyone.

- Track and Field - Congratulations to Ashley Wren who won silver in todays Inter Boys Long Jump at the English Schools Championships with a jump of 6-21m. Emma Simpson was 5th in the senior girls shot throwing 11.13m and Josh Bones 16th in the inter boys triple jump with 12.41m

- Urgent Request - Additional Marshalls are required for the Scunthorpe 10k taking place at Brumby Hall on Friday 11th July. - Message from Chairman, Mick Hughes: The club are hosting a 1st aid course at the Red Cross Centre on Brumby Wood Lane on Monday 21st and 28th July 2008. This is a 4 hour course split over 2 evenings (7.00 p.m. until 9.00 p.m.). It is important that coaches and other club officials have some up to date basic 1st aid training so please could you let me know via email who will be attending. Please click here to email Mick.
