On Wednesday 8th October 2008, Kate Pattison proudly represented the Club at the Caistor Sports Fair organised by Matt Lamming and Ali Sharp. This is an annual event designed to encourage school children of all ages to take a more active interest in sport. Kate, a student of Caistor Grammar, dealt with more than 22 enquiries from the youngsters and on one occasion, had to explain that a 'bendy stick' is, in fact, a vaulting pole. It might have been a bit cheeky but there was a strong attempt to poach one budding sprinter from the Grimsby Club - We'll have to wait and see if that was successful or not. During the Fair it was apparent that athletics, horse riding, cricket, women's football and hockey featured fairly low in popularity. The presentations that appealed the most included the judo, rugby football and table tennis demonstrations.

The first two images show Kate with some of the interested guests and the third images shows Kate with Caitlin and Olivia who are also Scunthorpe Club athletes but on the day were representing tennis and hockey respectively.
