One of the Lakeland Trail races. I did the Cartmel Trail back in March. A right turn after a couple of miles presented the steepest grassy hill I have ever seen while wearing a pair of running shoes. That was a great if tough run and I would expect this to be similar. Sam Ritson |

Report by Sam Ritson You may have noticed that the worst of the downpour started at around 6:50 and finished at 7:10 ish. In the meantime the driveway to Brumby Wood was flooded, the thunder and lightening was immediately overhead … Great! As it happened a few of us decided to head to the start line anyway – after the initial shock of the heavy rain hitting you it was fine and actually quite warm really. We did though have to delay the start just to make sure everything was safe – so some people snuck out once the rain had stopped and ran dry – not quite as much fun. It was a tough run as some of the puddles were quite deep and slowed you more than you would think – I guess we naturally took it steadier there as well. |
