Note from the meeting held on 16th January 2008

Training Fees

The committee is concerned about the number of athletes who persistently fail to pay their training fees. Through the winter period you should pay your nightly fees to your coach. Please be reminded that if you don’t pay your fees then you are not insured. The committee are monitoring this issue and will take action against those who don’t pay.

Specialist Coaching

The club still wishes to support athletes and coaches by bringing in senior coaches through England Athletics to deliver specialist sessions. England Athletics are in support of this and are willing to match fund the initiative.

CRB Checks

The club is in the process of updating its CRB register and coaches will be asked to provide the latest CRB certificate and licence information to Gary Spindley. Officials and other volunteers are reminded that they also must be CRB checked and we will be asking for your latest certificate during the next few weeks.

Membership

Following the AGM there as been no change to the membership or training fees. Recently we have had some new members join, welcome to the club. We have completed our new members welcome pack and are in the process of having it printed. A sponsor has been approached with regard to supporting this.

Summer Training

Training outdoors at Quibell Park resumes on 1st April. Sessions start at 6pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Please ask your coach for specific times for your group.

National Junior League

  • 27th April at Hull
  • 25th May at Scunthorpe

Northern Senior League

  • 3rd May at Scunthorpe
  • 7th June at Grantham
  • 6th July at Cleckheaton
  • 3rd August at Grimsby

REMEMBER – The club expects its members to represent it in these leagues, it doesn’t cost athletes and the better you do means the club will compete at a higher level.

The club is also looking at putting on an evening meeting once the floodlight enhancements have been completed.

Finally the winter warm up is on March 30th and we need volunteers to assist (likewise at other events throughout the season) NO HELP NO EVENT
